Autizma
Autizma is a community interest company that provides training, advice and support to the families and carers of people with learning disabilities and autism.
The courses delivered by Autizma are highly sought after by statutory agencies and the support provided to individuals has been a vital lifeline to many families. The founders of Autizma, Tina and Lyndsey, provide a high level of insight into the subject which is delivered in a warm, relaxed manner that encourages people to ask questions and learn more.

In 2019 however, as Covid-19 lockdown kept people from meeting and congregating, delivery of training – which had been done face-to-face up to then – became difficult for the group. Though the demand for training remained high, their ability to deliver was severely limited.
As part of our Helping Hands project we worked closely with the group to develop a programme of training that could be delivered online. We also supported the group to access grant funding to purchase suitable equipment that would allow the training to be delivered electronically.
To ensure that Tina and Lyndsey were confident to deliver we also provided training in using their new equipment and coached them through a number of practice sessions before they went live.
Tina and Lyndsey have since gone from strength to strength: as training on autism and learning disabilities becomes mandatory for ALL regulated services, Autizma is perfectly placed to reach customers right across the UK.
